Q: What did you do for Winterims?
A: Figurative Sculpture
Q: What was the process of making these sculptures?
A: We got into duos or trios, and wrapped one person’s different body parts in saran wrap and tape.
Then we cut of the tape and wrap and stuffed it with newspaper and then taped every body part together. They are displayed around the school for all to see!

8B Arsenic Science

On Wednesday, the 8th grade science class attempted to send wish lanterns into the sky. One actually worked, as seen in the video below. To find out how the lantern flew, ask an 8th grader.

Mathcounts Participants

Last Monday, a group of eight 7th and 8th graders went off-campus to compete in a math contest called Mathcounts. These students were Nick V, Lulu R, Thomas C, Karan T, Ashley A, Tucker F, Maddie C, and the 6th grade Nick V. The team got 2nd place overall, and Karan T scored the top individual score out of 165 students from all over the state. "It went extremely well. It went well because we didn't have any time to practice, while other schools practiced one or two days a week after school," said Mr. L, the math team coach.

Spirit Day!

On February 16, there will be another Spirit Day. It will be Fictional Character Day. You can pick a book or movie character and dress up like him/her/it.

World Maths Day

We will be participating in world math day this year. This is our fourth year doing world math day. So far we as a school have answered over 800,000 problems! We hope to reach one million problems by March 7th. We will only be participating in the Math games this year.

For those of you who don't know, World Maths Day is an international day where millions of people participate in a contest by answering math problems and trying to get the world record. Anyone from ages 4-18 can participate. Best of all, it's FREE!
